This celebrates the workers’ contributions and labors done for the country.

This day celebrates the annexation of the Guanacaste province in 1925.

 

Monday, 15 August 2011: Mother’s Day / Assumption

This day celebrates the assumption of the Virgin Mary according to Christian beliefs, at the same time, commemorating Mother’s day in honor for the mothers in the country.

 

Thursday, 15 September 2011: Independence Day

This marks the date of Costa Rica’s independence from Spain in 1821.

 

Monday, 17 October 2011: Dia de la Raza Holiday

This holiday is also known as “Columbus Day” celebrating the discovery of the Americas by Christopher Columbus.
