Pakistan is composed of the Muslim Majority and they celebrate Muslim holidays with devotion to religious traditions and customs like fasting, procession, prayers and offerings to God or in honor of the prophets. Most of the offices, stores and banks will be closed on these days.

This day is celebrated to honor the works and the labors done by the workers of the country.
Sunday, 14 August 2011: Independence Day
This celebrates the day when Pakistan became an independent country back in 1947. On this day, people celebrate with fireworks, raising of the flag and delivery of speeches.

This day is celebrated by Muslims in remembrance of the death of Husayn ibn Ali who was the grandson of the prophet Muhammad.
Sunday, 25 December 2011: Quaid-e-Azam’s Birthday/ Christmas Day
This is a public holiday to celebrate the birthday of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, also commemorating the Birth of Christ celebrated by the Christians.
