Panama New Year’s day is celebrated with fireworks, fire dances and loud parties. One tradition during New Year is to create effigies called “munecos” which are burnt as a sign to drive away bad luck.

This day is in remembrance of the people who died during the riots in 1964 over Panama Canal Zone.

This day celebrates “Colombus Day” celebrating the discovery of the North Americas.

This holiday remembers the uprising against the Spaniards in 1821.
Monday, 28 November 2011: Independence Day
This holiday marks Panama’s independence from Spain.

This day is celebrated in honor of all the Mothers and women.

This is a Christian holiday celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ.
