Singapore is a small country with lot of fun and entertainment. Tallest buildings, clear roads, bigger shops will make the visitor unforgettable. More than seven millions of tourist visits the country every year.

Population
As per the census taken during 2005 the population of the country is about 4.35 populations. About 75 percent are Chinese, 15 percent are Malays and 6 percentages are from India. The country is the largest urban society in the world. Almost all the peoples are living in urban areas. There are many languages used in Singapore. Chinese, Malay, English and Tamil are the official languages. English the administration language. Majority of the people are spoken Chinese language. Many numbers of religions are in the country as the country is freedom of worship. Buddhism, Confucianism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity are some religions in the country.

Currency
The currency used by the nation is Singapore Dollar which is also otherwise called as Sing Dollar (S$). The denomination of the coins in the country is 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 cent and S. The denominations of the notes are S, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50,100,500 and 1000S$. The currency of Brunei is widely accepted in the country. Other than this America, Australia British etc currencies are accepted in most shops and hotels. Many Banks and agents are providing foreign exchange facilities. Major credit cards are accepted in major departmental stores and hotels all over the country.

Climate
The climate of the country is generally hot and humid all over the years. The country has the annual temperature of 20-27 degree Celsius and the average rainfall is 95 inches throughout the country. Almost all the days in the year is suitable period for visiting the fascinating country.

Dress and Health
As the country has sunny climate, light clothes are best suited in the country. Drinking plenty of water is good while staying in the country. Avoid drinking coffee and tea. The dengue fever is common in the country. Mosquitoes are the main reason for this fever. So take some precautions against this.

Communications and Transport
All the means of communication like postal, IDD telephones, fax and internet are available all over the country. Singapore international airport operates many flights to almost all the countries. Many buses and call taxis are available.

Visa and passports
All the visitors should possess a valid passport while entering the country. A tourist can stay in the country for one month with visit pass. Extension will be allowed only after getting permission from the Immigration Department. Visa is optional for many countries. Goods like illicit drugs, weapons, obscene articles are strictly prohibited.

Some Tips
Don’t throw any wastes in the roads; fines will be imposed for such activities. People are naming high for hospitality. As there are many traditions followed in the country, so try to respect their traditions.
