WEEKEND GETAWAY - SINGAPORE GETAWAY - THINGS TO DO IN SINGAPORE

Singapore is a flourishing city-state, balanced, small, highly developed country with one main island and 60 small islands, located in the southern tip of the Asian continent. It has become one of the juggernaut economies Asia. It is the most densely populated country in the world and it has a multicultural population.

The main things to do Singapore is sightseeing and shopping. One of the main places to see in Singapore is the Singapore Zoo, where the world’s largest caged orangutan group lives and the Night Safari where hundreds of interesting animals rule the unique nature park. Chinatown is a city where Tourism is continually invading this cultural section of the Singapore, with the street vendors and shops offering a glance into the days of old.

There is a diverse cultural Art museum of Asian civilizations museum where we can see the ninth century Buddha and a Chinese Snuff box. The another fascinating place to visit is the Singapore Botanic Gardens which is open all the day and houses beautiful animals, lakes, flowers and plants and it has one of the region’s first rubber tree orchards. We can enjoy the classy shopping and dining area in the Park Avenue of the orchard road.

Near the Singapore waterfront there is a Historic Taoist temple of Thian Hock Keng Temple which is a famous Religious site. There is the Singapore Art museum which has enormous collection of the Singaporean and the Malay sculpture and art. The other place of visit is the Changi Prison in Singapore, which is opened all day to the public as a museum.

You can enjoy the Tram of Mount Faber Cable Car in Singapore. There is a Bukit Timah Natural reserve which offers climbing and the bike trails for discovering some of the rarest birds, insect and the mammal species in the world. There is a Religious site of Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple, which is one of the highlights of the Little India district. St. Andrew’s Cathedral is yet another Religious site to see.

The other sights to enjoy are: Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Armenian Church, Sentosa Orchid Gardens, City Hall, Padang, Sri Veerama Kaliamman Temple, Statue of Raffles, Jamae Mosque, and Little India Arcade in Singapore. The places to see in Sentosa Island are the Underwater World and Dolphin Lagoon, Fort Siloso, Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom Museum of Singapore, Statue of Merlion, History museum of the Images of Singapore, a Golf course of the Sentosa Golf Club and the science museum of VolcanoLand.

The places worth to see in Jurong are the Chinese and Japanese Gardens, Jurong Reptile Park and the Jurong Bird Park.
